Written by the talented Cassandra Adair and directed by the imaginative Christina McCarver "The Lonely Play" was, undoubtedly, about loneliness. Six lonely individuals, to be exact, each seizing their idiosyncrasies to distract themselves from their complete lack of human connection. I had the opportunity to play a character who decides to be her own best friend. The irony of the misanthropic theme notwithstanding, this project was a delightful way to spend time with a talented group in the start of this winter.
"Alexandra Clayton (GS ’12) manages to fill every action with a weight that fully emotes her character’s feelings of loneliness and the accompanying neurosis."
